Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's first trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Success also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
